Hair Loss or Thinning
A natural solution
By creating tiny micro-channels in the scalp, microneedling stimulates blood circulation and increases collagen production, which can strengthen hair follicles and encourage new growth. It also enhances the absorption of hair growth serums and nutrients. When combined with acupuncture, which supports overall circulation and hormonal balance, and LED light therapy, which can further stimulate the scalp, this treatment offers a natural and effective way to promote thicker, healthier hair.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling, also called collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive technique that uses thin, sterile needles, to create microchannels on the surface of the skin. This procedure stimulates the skin to produce more collagen and elastin. Cellular turnover is also enhanced and the end result is firmer & smoother skin, more even skin tone, and the reduction of scars, pore size, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation. In addition to the shifts in appearance, the open channels allow up to 500% more product absorption.
What is Nanoneedling?
Nanoneedling is a non-invasive skincare treatment that uses ultra-fine silicone or stainless steel tips to create microscopic channels in the skin. Unlike microneedling, nanoneedling does not penetrate the deeper layers of the skin, making it a gentler option with no downtime. This process enhances product absorption up to 97%, stimulates collagen production, and improves skin texture, tone, and hydration. It is commonly used to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and overall skin rejuvenation.
Who is a good candidate for microneedling and nanoneedling?
Microneedling is best for individuals looking to improve fine lines, acne scars, uneven skin texture, and stimulate hair growth. Nanoneedling is ideal for those who want a gentler treatment to boost hydration, plump the skin, and enhance product absorption. Both treatments work well for most skin types.
Does microneedling or nanoneedling hurt?
Microneedling may cause mild discomfort, similar to a light prickling sensation, but a numbing cream can be applied beforehand to minimize pain. Nanoneedling is completely painless, as it only affects the outermost layer of the skin.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments varies based on your skin and age. Most people see significant improvement after 3-6 microneedling sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Nanoneedling can be done more frequently, often every 1-2 weeks, for ongoing skin maintenance.
How soon will I see results?
Results from microneedling typically appear after a few weeks as collagen production increases, with continued improvement over time. Nanoneedling provides an immediate glow and skin-plumping effect, making it a great choice for instant radiance.
What is the downtime after treatment?
Microneedling may cause redness, slight swelling, and sensitivity for 24-48 hours, similar to a mild sunburn. Nanoneedling has no downtime, making it a great option for a quick skin refresh.
Can I wear makeup after microneedling or nanoneedling?
After microneedling, it’s best to wait at least 24 hours before applying makeup to allow the skin to heal. Nanoneedling has no restrictions, so makeup can be applied immediately if desired.
How do I prepare for microneedling?
Stop the use of the following products 1 week prior to treatment:
- topical products that may increase the sensitivity of skin: retinoids (tretinoin, Retin-A, etc.), topical antibiotics, chemical exfoliants, hydroquinone, benzoyl peroxide
- exfoliating products
- topical acids & peels (Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acids)
- excessive sun exposure, tanning, or tanning beds
- facial waxing, depilatory creams, or electrolysis
- blood-thinners such as NSAIDs, aspirin, fish oils, and Vitamin E (never discontinue a prescription medication without consulting your doctor).
- If you are prone to cold sores, talk to your doctor about taking antivirals before treatment.
- If you take Accutane, it must be at least 6 months from your last dose.
- There must be at least 4 weeks between microneedling sessions and also between: chemical peels, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, laser skin resurfacing, Botox, dermal fillers, and other cosmetic surgery.
How should I care for my skin after treatment?
After microneedling, keep your skin hydrated, avoid direct sun exposure, and use gentle, non-irritating skincare for a few days. You will also need to avoid sweating and swimming for 24-48 hours. Do not undergo other facial treatments for the next 2 weeks. Nanoneedling requires no special aftercare beyond maintaining a good skincare routine.
Can microneedling help with acne scars?
Yes! Microneedling is highly effective at reducing the appearance of acne scars by stimulating collagen production and promoting skin regeneration. A series of treatments is recommended for the best results.
Can microneedling help reduce acne breakouts?
Yes! Microneedling can be a great option for acne-prone skin. While we avoid treating directly over active breakouts, microneedling around them can help reduce inflammation, balance oil production, and promote healing. When combined with acupuncture, which supports internal balance and stress reduction, and LED light therapy, which kills acne-causing bacteria and calms redness, this treatment becomes even more powerful. Many people find that regular sessions lead to fewer breakouts and clearer, healthier skin over time!
Is there anyone who shouldn’t get microneedling or nanoneedling?
Microneedling has not been evaluated in the following patient populations, and as such, precautions should be taken for: scars and stretch marks less than one year old; women who are pregnant or nursing (nanoneedling is ok); keloid scars; patients with history of eczema, psoriasis and other chronic conditions; patients with history of actinic (solar) keratosis; patients with history of herpes simplex infections and other contagious skin conditions; diabetics or patients with wound-healing deficiencies; patients on immunosuppressive therapy; patients with a metal allergy; skin with presence of raised moles or warts on targeted area; cancer patients undergoing treatment; skin cancer, discoid lupus, blood clotting disorders, anti-coagulant/blood-thinning therapy. Please contact the office before booking if any of these apply to you.
